I just saw the Mystery Diagnosis segment on Jennifer for the third time and decided to see if there was any update of her health.
ReplyDeleteMy father, John Walter Zvoleff, died of primary amyloidosis back in August of 1973. His disease was misdiagnosed until he landed in the Cleveland Clinic three weeks before he passed away. They did not do the congo red stain at either of the Akron, Ohio, hospitals, so they really didn't know what they were dealing with (not that it would have made a difference, because chemo wasn't an option, nothing was, back then. I think he lived 15 or 16 months from the time he really had to leave work at BFGoodrich as a factory worker. He was 57 at the time of his death. I will pray for you and your family; I just lost my husband (he was 65), who lived with CLL (leukemia) for 14 years. Two stem cell transplants failed. God's will, is the way he and I look at it. Thank you for your note, Marge...I apologize that for some reason I am just seeing it now, so many months later! I am so sorry to hear about your father and your husband, and you are very kind to share your story. Thankfully, there are researchers committed to learning about this disease who have discovered better ways to diagnose and treat it...I just wish your father could have benefited from these advances. It sounds like your husband was a strong fighter and I'm sure your love and care for him was a major factor in giving him all those years. I hope you are doing well and I wish you the best.
